| To prepare plans and specifications for the construction of a new residence in the high mountains of southern Colorado. The site is at an elevation of 7500 ft in a mountainous region of south central Colorado, about 10 miles from the New Mexico border. The mountain top site is dry and covered in low growing trees and scrub plants. The views are spectacular but to see them one has to rise above the tree tops. The design calls for protected courtyard gardens at the ground level which enhance the living space with greenery, and water gardens that the site does not normally support. The upper level accommodation is raised above the height of the surrounding trees to enhance capturing the distant views. |
