San Dimas Performance Structure
San Dimas,California
To provide schematic design services for a performance structure to be constructed in a large open square which forms part of the San Dimas Civic Quad. This structure was conceived as a collection of dynamic elements which could be transformed from the performance mode to a passive mode with limited visibility during those times of the year when the structure is not in use. The performance setting is a combination of tempered glass panels with adjustable geometry at the upper part of the structure and a lower support component, sized to reinforce low level sound frequencies. The entire performance environment is designed to work with electronic sound reinforcement to project sound into the open square area in front of the structure in a clear, and legible way without over amplification and distortion.
